When I first started designing I was deathly afraid to actually go into the code and change things myself. I always relied upon the WYSIWYG features of Dreamweaver which proved to be very limiting as HTML can sometimes point blank refuse to do what you tell it to.

After I started creating CSS pages and manually editing my code I became a far better web designer and was able to keep up with the current technologies.
